Our Brush with Hannah Montana

This past weekend our family went to Baltimore for my cousin's wedding. We went to the wedding and the reception and on the way out this happened to us.

The limosine driver was standing there in the parking lot next to the bride and groom's limo. It was a super stretch sedan. It was white with a black top and black wheels. It was pretty neat looking. He noticed that my kids were checking out the car as they walked by and he asked if they would like to take a peak inside.

Well, yeah!!! So they walk over and he opens the back door for them to see and suggests they get in and sit down. So the peeps do and they are in awe with the size and the fact that it had a tv in it AND a bar AND a big long seat AND neon lights AND a stereo in it. The driver goes around to the other side of the car and opens the other door and pokes his head in and says,

"you know, I have driven around a lot of famous people in this car."

The kids say, "really??? like who???"

He says, "well, I can't tell you any names of them because we aren't allowed to but I will tell you the initials of one rock star you might know. Do you know who HM is?"

Well, Alexandra about flips out of the seat and yells, "HANNAH MONTANA!!!!"

And that made her birthday, which was the very day that she got to sit in the same limosine that Hannah Montana sat in!!!

It's BESTEST when Family is there...

Caroline lucked out this year for her birthday. She got to have her family party at the same time as our family reunion. She couldn't have planned it better. Aunt Traci is the bestest when it comes to planning a party. Not only did she do an awesome job having 27+/- people at her house for not one day but two but in the midst of all that she planned a party for Caroline.

Caroline was so excited when the cake came out, but first we have to talk about all the activities going on. Aunt Traci has a big blow-up waterslide that the kids spent the better part of the day on.

Then the birthday cake came out: Strawberry creme filling cake!! Mmm Mmm good!!

Then we had a PINIATTA!! Just what Caroline wanted for her birthday.

Then she had tons of presents and she got exactly what she wanted - MORE WEBKINZ!!

She also got High School Musical flip flops from Aunt Joy and Uncle Steve.

Swedish Fish from Uncle John Craig and family.

A horse Webkinz!

A pig Webkinz!

Then we went next door and the neighbor gave the kids COTTON CANDY!!

That evening once it got dark we had fireworks!!!

I guess I don't have to tell you that the next morning she slept in.

Happy Birthday Pop-Pop!

This past weekend we celebrated my grandfather's 90th birthday. He is doing well and had a great time having his family celebrate with him. He enjoys watching my kids play in the pool and he has a running joke with Caroline my youngest. He tries to kiss her and she likes to run away. At first she was a bit frightened of him but now it is a game. I am sure he will have many more birthdays.

Happy Birthday, my Son!!

Today is Nicholas' 8th birthday. Yes, if you are doing the math right I had three kids in three years. The day I came home from the hospital with Caroline was Nicholas' 3rd birthday. So technically I had three kids under three years old. (for a very short time). So each year this time we have two birthdays back to back.

So back to Nicholas. He is so cute. Last night I asked him if he was sad that it was his last night going to bed being 7 and he said, "yes". I asked him why and he said, "I like being 7". So I told him that we could skip his birthday and he could be 7 for another year and he said, "Mom, I can't do that, I will just keep on growing and growing and I can't stop."

Oh well, I tried to keep him little for a while longer.

It isn't fair that kids grow up so quickly. So many people have stopped me in the supermarket or out and about and they say, "Enjoy them while they are young" or "enjoy them now because it will be too late later" or something to that effect. Usually it is when the kids are acting up or crying or fussing in some way. And at that moment I really am not enjoying them and would have difficulty enjoying their fussing or crying. So I just give a fake smile and say, "Yeah I will" or something like that. But I understand what they mean. We have our children just a short little time and they grow up so quickly that we hardly know it is happening until it is too late.

Happy Birthday My Dear Baby!!

My youngest turns 5 today. It is official. She is no longer a baby anymore. This morning she woke up and announced that she had grown bigger over night. She was very excited to be 5 today, however, she was a bit upset that she didn't have a loose tooth!

She has a party this afternoon with her friends in our beautiful backyard! Tomorrow she and her brother(whose birthday is June3) will celebrate together their birthdays with the family.
